Rites of Passage Experiences for School-Based Mentoring Groups
ROPEs are introductory, multi-day Rites of Passage Experiences offered to male youth who participate in a Journeymen school-based mentoring Circle. Supported by peers, committed adult mentors, and trained professional guides, boys mark the beginning of their own hero’s journey as they grow more aware of their unique gifts – and that which stands in their way.
Living outdoors and in a community of their new “brothers”, boys will be tested and stretched in their personal responsibility, accountability and leadership capacity. Activities include physical, mental, emotional and social challenges, as well as plenty of fun, moments to relax, and finally, the opportunity celebrate the long road to young adulthood. Families are invited and encouraged to attend the homecoming events on the last day.
Building on the momentum from our weekly mentoring groups, these unique courses are invite-only and specific to each school campus. To explore other Journeymen courses, please see The Quest and the Wayfinder Weekend.
